About the Role

As Production Manager at Palm Bites, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our food production facility, ensuring products are made safely, efficiently, consistently, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead and schedule the production team, coordinate production plans, manage workflow and inventory, monitor output and labour costs, and ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.

Working closely with Quality Assurance, Operations, and senior management, you will help maintain our SQF, CFIA, and food-safety standards while identifying opportunities to reduce waste, improve productivity, and strengthen our processes. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is organized, dependable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing food manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee daily production operations to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.
• Develop production plans and assign daily tasks based on orders, priorities, staffing, and available materials.
• Lead, train, schedule, and supervise production employees while maintaining a productive and respectful work environment.
• Monitor employee performance, attendance, productivity, and adherence to company procedures.
• Ensure all products meet Palm Bites’ recipes, specifications, quality standards, and packaging requirements.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance to maintain SQF, CFIA, GMP, HACCP, allergen-control, sanitation, and food-safety requirements.
• Complete and verify production records, batch sheets, traceability documents, sanitation logs, and other required documentation.
• Monitor raw materials, packaging supplies, work-in-progress, and finished goods to prevent production delays or shortages.
• Coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure required ingredients and packaging are available.
• Track production output, labour hours, downtime, waste, yields, and overall efficiency.
• Identify production issues and implement practical solutions to improve workflow, reduce waste, and control costs.
• Ensure machinery and equipment are operated correctly, cleaned properly, and maintained in safe working condition.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and report equipment problems promptly.
• Enforce workplace health and safety policies and ensure employees follow proper procedures.
• Support new product launches, product trials, private-label projects, and process improvements.
• Investigate production errors, quality concerns, and customer complaints, and assist with corrective actions.
• Provide regular production updates and performance reports to senior management.
• Perform other production and operational duties as required in a growing food-manufacturing environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3–5 years of production experience in food manufacturing, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Post-secondary education in food science, operations management, manufacturing, supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, allergen control, sanitation, traceability, and food-safety practices.
• Experience working in an SQF-certified facility is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of CFIA regulations and Canadian food-manufacturing requirements is an asset.
• Proven ability to lead, train, schedule, and motivate a diverse production team.
• Strong production-planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience tracking labour, output, waste, yields, downtime, and production efficiency.
• Comfortable working with production records, inventory systems, spreadsheets, and performance reports.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and consistency.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Warehousing, Maintenance, and senior management.
• Able to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Mechanically inclined with basic knowledge of production equipment and troubleshooting is an asset.
• Flexible availability to support changing production schedules, including occasional evenings or weekends when required.
• Able to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 lb when necessary.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

About the Role

As E-commerce & Marketplace Manager at Palm Bites, you will be responsible for driving the performance and growth of our online sales channels, including the Palm Bites website, Amazon, Faire, and other third-party marketplaces.

You will manage the complete online customer journey—from product listings, merchandising, promotions, and inventory availability to conversion optimization and performance reporting. Working closely with Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Production, you will ensure our products are accurately presented, properly stocked, competitively positioned, and supported by effective campaigns.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded e-commerce professional who is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple platforms in a fast-growing food and consumer-products business.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and execute the e-commerce and marketplace strategy to increase revenue, traffic, conversion rates, and customer retention.
• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Palm Bites website and third-party marketplace accounts.
• Create, update, and optimize product listings, including titles, descriptions, images, pricing, keywords, product attributes, and nutritional information.
• Manage online merchandising, product collections, navigation, featured products, bundles, upsells, and cross-selling opportunities.
• Plan and execute online promotions, product launches, seasonal campaigns, and marketplace events.
• Monitor product availability and coordinate with Production, Inventory, and Fulfilment teams to reduce stockouts and overselling.
• Manage marketplace requirements, account health, catalogue issues, listing suppressions, chargebacks, customer claims, and policy compliance.
• Monitor pricing, promotions, margins, marketplace fees, shipping costs, and profitability by product and sales channel.
• Analyze website and marketplace performance, including traffic, conversion rates, average order value, sales, return rates, and customer-acquisition costs.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports highlighting results, challenges, opportunities, and recommended actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve website navigation, product pages, checkout experience, mobile usability, and overall conversion rates.
• Coordinate with the Marketing team on email, SMS, paid advertising, social media, affiliate, and influencer campaigns that drive online sales.
• Support customer-retention initiatives, including subscriptions, loyalty programs, abandoned-cart campaigns, and personalized offers.
• Conduct keyword, competitor, pricing, category, and marketplace research to improve product visibility and positioning.
• Manage marketplace advertising campaigns and monitor budgets, return on advertising spend, and profitability.
• Maintain accurate promotional calendars and ensure pricing and campaign details are consistent across all channels.
• Coordinate with designers, photographers, and content creators to produce high-quality e-commerce assets.
• Monitor customer reviews, questions, returns, and feedback to identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Work with Customer Service and Operations to resolve order, shipping, listing, and customer-experience issues.
• Research and launch Palm Bites on relevant new marketplaces and online retail platforms.
• Ensure all online product information and marketing claims comply with company standards and applicable food-labelling requirements.
• Support wholesale e-commerce operations and other digital-growth projects as required.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in e-commerce, marketplace management, digital merchandising, or a related role.
• Post-secondary education in e-commerce, marketing, business, communications, or a related field is preferred.
• Hands-on experience managing Shopify or a comparable e-commerce platform.
• Experience managing Amazon Seller Central is strongly preferred.
• Experience with platforms such as Faire, Walmart Marketplace, or other online retail marketplaces is an asset.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce merchandising, conversion-rate optimization, customer retention, and the online purchasing journey.
• Experience creating and optimizing product listings using e-commerce SEO and marketplace best practices.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, traffic, conversion, advertising, and profitability data.
• Experience with Google Analytics, Shopify reporting, marketplace analytics, and spreadsheet-based reporting.
• Familiarity with Klaviyo or similar email and SMS marketing platforms is an asset.
• Experience managing marketplace advertising, paid search, or retail media campaigns is an asset.
• Strong understanding of pricing, promotions, gross margin, marketplace fees, shipping costs, and channel profitability.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple platforms, campaigns, deadlines, and product launches simultaneously.
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly when managing product information, pricing, inventory, and promotions.
• Strong written communication and product-copywriting skills.
• Comfortable collaborating with Marketing, Production, Inventory, Fulfilment, Sales, and Customer Service teams.
• Proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in food and beverage, consumer packaged goods, retail, or direct-to-consumer e-commerce is strongly preferred.
